Specializing in classic Southern soul food, this lively spot effortlessly combines hearty, flavorful dishes with an inviting atmosphere underscored by live music and a full bar, making it much more than just a restaurant—it’s a true cultural gathering place.

The menu at 95 South reads like a love letter to Southern comfort cuisine. From the moment you step in, your senses are drawn to the rich aromas of beef ribs so tender they almost melt in your mouth, and Florence fried catfish boasting a crispy golden crust that snaps delightfully with each bite. The homey allure of fried chicken and waffles drizzled with strawberry syrup offers a playful, sweet-and-savory harmony that perfectly encapsulates what soul food is all about. Guests also rave about the creamy, dreamy mac and cheese, often paired with perfectly seasoned yams and crispy chicken wings, creating a plate that is as comforting as it is indulgent.

The seafood lovers among you will find plenty to celebrate here as well. The Seafood Friday’s feature is a standout, with options like grilled salmon fillet, tilapia dinner with two sides, and a generously portioned seafood platter that bursts with fresh, buttery flavors. Coupled with house specialties like Ciroc Punch and the famously smooth Rum Punch, each meal feels like a celebratory feast.

This is not just a meal — it’s an experience. The dining atmosphere is warm, infused with the soulful sounds of ’90s hip-hop and R&B that permeate the space, creating a vibrant yet relaxed backdrop. Guests like Jennifer Johnson describe the setting as "great," noting the perfect balance of a lively crowd without feeling overcrowded, allowing you to lose yourself both in good food and good vibes.

What truly elevates 95 South Soul Food Restaurant is the palpable sense of community and genuine hospitality. Ivan Poljakov’s review highlights the "staff that cares," whose warm and attentive service immediately wraps you in comfort, making each visit feel personal and valued. The bartenders add their own charm, serving up perfectly crafted Patron Margaritas and Apple Martinis with smiles that welcome you like old friends, as Vivian E. Burns fondly recalls.

Longtime patrons like Shirell Gamble testify to the restaurant’s evolution and rising excellence, sharing how their recent visits exceeded expectations with dishes that “knocked my socks off” thanks to freshness, seasoning, and cooking finesse. Vanessa Castillo’s praise for the appealing aesthetics and the consistently remarkable flavor affirms 95 South’s position as a mainstay worthy of frequent returns.

Whether you’re craving the hearty satisfaction of Southern BBQ chicken paired with collard greens or the zesty zing of calamari and mussels to start, 95 South Soul Food Restaurant masterfully delivers soulful flavors in a setting that feels both nostalgic and electric. It invites you not just to eat, but to savor the culture and good company nestled in every bite and every beat.

Went there for dinner on a Saturday evening and had a great time. The restaurant was full but not too crowded. The music was 90s hip-hop/r&b that I found myself really enjoying. The best part was the food. The food is amazing!!! I got salmon with candied yams and collard greens. Absolutely amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back and I 100% recommend it to anyone that loves soul food.

Went here with some friends for brunch and was a bit disappointed. For starters upon arrival the restaurant looks closed for the outside , luckily one of the staff members were outside and invited me in. Upon entering, the restaurant is very spacious and clean.( I can easily see this as the perfect venue to throw an event) . I ended up getting there way ahead of my two friends and the bartender took pity on me and offered me a mimosa on the house, which tasted amazing. Once my friends arrived, we ordered a plethora of food ranging from chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, fish and grits along with a picture of mimosas. my friend seem to enjoy their food. However, I thought the food was a bit underwhelming (I had the chicken and waffles). please know this is personal preference and also know that I’ve brunched quite a bit, and this was very underwhelming to me simply on taste. My friends seem to have enjoyed their food and didn’t make any complaints. The service was great and not too long after my friends arrived, so did the DJ. Pros: Very nice vibey atmosphere, especially once the music is going. The staff are very nice and accommodating as they needed to be a few changes made to one of my friends order because she is vegetarian. Although I did not like my food, the portion sizes were really good, especially for the price and they have vegetarian options. CONS: when they have brunch, that is the only thing available to order which sucks because the brunch menu is very limited in comparison to their dinner menu. I do think I’ll return as I do think they’re done the menu is much more appealing to me. It seems like the night scene is where it’s at up in there lololol. So for now until next time as I’ll definitely be back..
